Four Months

Little Levi is four months old (almost 4 1/2 now since I am so late in posting)!  Time is definitely beginning to speed up!  I feel like Levi grew up some this month - he lost a lot of his infant look, and sometimes I see glimpses of what I think he'll look like as a boy rather than a baby boy.

This month he has made me laugh probably more than all of his other months combined, and I have a feeling that will only continue!  He is generally such a happy baby who smiles rather frequently..and his smiles are more responsive than before.  He has also started giggling for us which of course turns our hearts to mush.  Our morning playtimes often consist of some "singing."  I will sing something to him and then if I stop, he will sing back to me.  We play this game for a while, usually until I begin laughing or he starts screeching.

Some of his new tricks include grasping toys with both hands, putting almost everything in his mouth, holding his head up and looking around, and standing up!  He entertains himself for quite a while laying on his playmat and reaching for his hanging toys.  He has really good head control and often prefers to sit up rather than laying down (all with Mom or Dad's help of course).  We chuckle at how tight he keeps his abs because he likes to sit up as long as possible before finally he has to give in and lay back when we lean him up against his boppy.  He also is rather pleased with himself when he stands up and looks around.

We are continuing to learn how to be parents - and how to love a little boy so much.  Sometimes my heart hurts with how much love I have for my baby boy.  A whole new element to the Gospel has been added as I literally cringe at the thought of anything happening to my sweet little boy.  I think we are both also trying to understand that God loves Levi more than we do - something that I'm sure will continue to challenge me as he grows older.

We'll leave you with a series of pictures of him with his Bear.  Just about everything goes in his mouth now.  He often makes us laugh with the large items he tries to stick in there :).

Sending lots of love,
Levi and Bear
